Lunch on Nov. 30. It's been a while to go to Burger King. I always have Whopper Jr. It's no problem to finish regular size, but I know try not to much. Ok, to be honest, I had a bagle sandwich before noon. I am going to take a walk this evening. Burn what I ate!

Jeon - Korean Pancake
Dinner ohn Nov. 27. I have garlic chive going to bad soon in the fridge. So Dinner is something with garlic chive.
Pork Meatball Soup : with Daiko radish, carrot and onion. Of course, I added garlic chive to meatball. Yes! I finished garlic chive!
Jeon (Korean Pancake) : I added calamari and nori(seaweed paper).
Shio Ramen for Breakfast on Nov. 27
I was hungry for soup this morning. Yes, I drank too much last night. Soup and Coke helped me a lot to recover. teehee.
Smelt Fritter
Dinner on Nov. 27. I have not cooked for a while and I wanted something nice. I think I did good job. Well, I just wannted to have sake, and I needed good meal for good drink.
Smelt Fritter : I found fresh lake smelt at Wholey's. Put some flour and deep-fry. Sprinkle some salt and squeez lemon if you like.
Tamagoyaki (Egg Omlet) : Having Nori (seaweed paper) in it. Looks pretty, doesnt it?
Asparagus : Boiled asparagus with ponzu sauce - simple is the best!
Daikon to Konbu no Nimono (Cooked Daikon Radish and Kelp) : It was very good. I cooked them with fish broth and a bit soy sauce. BTW this bowl is one of my favorite. I like Japanese style tableware.
Hitokuchi Onigiri (One bite size rice ball) : Yukari (Shiso herb) flavor
Today's Sake : Koshi no Kanchubai - To be honest, I am not a sake person. But it was mild and smooth.

Lunch on Nov. 25
Fettuccine with Clam Sauce for lunch. It was soooo good. If I had this at restaurant, I would order again for sure. The clams and mussels were so tasty and pasta has the juice from them. I ate a lot. I mean I ate more than I should have, but I don't regret. I was so happy. Thank you, Chef J.
Mussels for extra toppings : That's like heaven. I couldn't stop drinking Dry Riesling.
Lunch on Nov. 24
I knew it could happen. Again, my body screamed for Japanese food. I enjoyed Sheperds pie this morning, but I got hungry for simple Japanese food for lunch. So I made rice and had it with miso-soup, Tako Sansai(octpus salad), Shiokobu(cooked kelp). Yes, that's my soul food!

This is the second Thanksgiving feast for me. I ate too much last yeat, so I tried not to eat more than I should have. Anyway it's always nice to spend time with family. Thank you, mom & dad. I love you all!

Nicky's Thai Kitchen
Lunch at Nicky's Thai Kitchen on Nov. 19th. I love Thai Food. I went to some Thai restaurants in Pittsburgh, but I like Nicky's the best so far. My friend recommended me Pusadee's Garden which is known as nice patio, but I haven't been there yet and I think I missed this year. Nicky's also have patio but it was closed today. Maybe it will be closed till spring.
Soup (You can pick soup of salad for your entree)
Spring Roll Delux (A pair of spring rolls and egg rolls) - It comes with two dipping sauce. The dark one (on the left) taste like a bit sweet soy sauce with peanuts and the orange one (on the right) taste a bit sour, maybe plub? I am not sure.
Cashew with Veggies (your choice of meat, stir-fried with garlic, onions, carrots, green peppers, broccoli and cashews in a mild sweet chili sauce) - I picked veggies. I like veggies as much as meat. You also can pick how spicy it is.
Phad Thai with Chicken (Stir-fried rice noodle with your choice of meat garnished with fresh bean sprouts, scallions and crushed roasted peanuts)

Cure on Nov. 18th
Dinner at Cure. OMG. It's so good. I think I like this restaurant the best in Pittsburgh so far. They don't serve alcohole but they charge only $3 per a bottle. It's very cheap! I had chef's tasting menu ($55) and I loved all dishes. According to a server, they don't have the tasting menu on busy days like weekend.
Salumi (Chicken Rillettes, Calabrese, Braseola, Duck Speck, Lardo, Coppa, Pate Americano) - the duck was smokey and perfect!
Sparkling Wine for Appetizer : Moletto Prosecco Extra Dry DOC Treviso - I liked it a lot. Dry! Why not?
Foie Blonde and Veal Short Rib Terrine (Brioche, Apple Curd, Whipped Lavender Oil, Pomegranate, Pea Shoots, Orange) - This is my favorite. I can open one bottle of wine for this plate. OMG, foie blonde. Sooooo good. I openned red wine, of course.
Red Wine : 2007 Caldora Yume Montepulciano D'Abruzzo - I like Montepulciano D'abruzzo. It is my favorite grape. Nice wine and great food. Life is wonderful!
Lake Ontario Walleyed Pike Meniere (Brown Butter Potato Fondue, Bernaise, Buerre Rouge, Brocollie and Califlower Almondine) - Almond gives different texture to the fish. It was great.
Pekin Paradise Farm Duck (Apple, Caramelized Honey-Rutabaga Puree, Espelette, Cocoa and Coffee Espuma, Caramelized Baby Fennel, Smoked Beets, Minus 8 vinegar) - Smoked Beets! It was smokey and the flavor made the beets sweeter. I loved it! Minus 8 vinegar tasted very mild and deep flavor. In personal, the duck can be a bit smaller. But it was good. What I thought at the end of the meal ..... I should have brought another bottle of wine.
Roasted Pepper - Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta (Burnt Anise Meringue, Fennel Marmalade, Olive Caramel, Tomato Jam, Balsamic Zabaglione, Candied Hazelnuts) - I usually don't have dessert, but I enjoyed this place. I could take this for appetizer. It must go good with white wine.

Shio Ramen
Breakfast on Nov. 17th, Saturday. I like Ramen. It is sent from Japan. I know we can get ramen packages at store, but I don't like the flavor, beef, chicken, shrimp or something like that. For me, Ramen flavor has to be Shoyu(soy sauce), Miso(soybean paste), Shio(salt) or Tonkotsu(pork). Anyway I had Sio Ramen for breakfast. It was good, but a bit too much this morning. I didn't get hungry till evening.
Prosciutto for Appetizer
Nov 14th! I had to go work tonite, we had a nice appetizer. We like Shrimp Cocktail for appetizer but I wanted to have something different. Then I picked Proscioutto! Delicious! It has the just right amount of salt. I forgot the name brand. I bought it at Giant Eagle. It goes good with dry sparkling wine.

Soba for Breakfast

I had soba noodle for breakfast. I boiled soba noodle and threw it into clear soup which is leftover from last night.

It was a really pretty place. We all dressed up and enjoyed afternoon tea. I almost wore Steelers T-shirt. Coz it was Monday night football!

Tuna sandwich was pretty good. A tiny chunk of cerely gave the sandwich defferent texture and flavor. Risotto Crowuette was good too. Vegetable ball had a lot of different kinds of vegetable but a bit salty.
Biscotti and Scorn with jam and cream
Sweets! I know it looks gorgeous, but I didn't eat almost any. I don't love sweets much.
