Roll Cabbage

Dinner on Feb. 21. I thought about making Pot-au-feu, but i didn't have good meat for it. So I decided to make Roll Cabbage.  It's been a while since I made it last time. I think I did a good job.

It's easy to make. Throw everything in the pot and add a bit water with beef bouillon, and simmer for an hour.

Mapo Tofu

Dinner on Feb. 18. I had been hungry for Mapo-Tofu since I bought tofu a few weeks ago. Finally, I made it. It was good. I usually like firm tofu, but silken tofu is better for Mapo-Tofu. I think I did good job, but it can be spicier.

Mapo-Tofu

Enjoy with rice!

Pho Minh

Lunch at Pho Minh on Feb. 18. I always go to Tram's when I get hungry for Vietnamese food, but I also have heard people talking about Pho Minh. So I tried Pho Minh today. I had Pho with rare beef and tripe. It was pretty good. I think I might like here more than Tram's. About Pho, sometimes Tram's one is a bit salty. Also Pho Minh has more choice. I wanna try something else next time.

Spring Roll with Pork and Shrimp - It's ok. I don't think I order again.

Pho with Rare Beef and Tripe : I liked it a lot. Literally, beef is rare, but it's thin sliced and cooked in a hot broth. I also enjoyed tripe texture.

Flounder with Mozzarella

Dinner on Feb. 11. Pan-fried Flounder with ketchup and mozzarella, green beans and carrot rice. I know I should have had tomato sauce instead of ketchup.

Ramen Bar

Lunch at Ramen Bar on Feb. 11. It's the first ramen(not from a package) in the U.S. I ordered miso-based Negi Ramen. Noodle was ok, but broth........ it was too light. a bit thin. But I can take it here not in Japan. I had gyoza for appetizer. I can say it loud. DO NOT ORDER GYOZA. It was horrible. My messed up gyoza is way better. Anyway, I don't say I love ramen here, but I will be back when I crave for ramen so bad.

Dinner on Feb. 5. Very Japanese. Addition to the plates on the picture, I had rice and miso-soup with enoki mushroom.

Saba Syogani : ginger mackerel - I didn't follow a recipe and it tasted too light. I should have added a bit more soy sauce and sugar.

Oshitashi : Spinach Salad

Daikon Nimono : Cooked Daiko Radish
