Breaded deep-fry

Dinner on December 29.
After huge meals from Christmas week, I wanted have something simple like soup or salad. Look what I made! What was I thinking?? Breaded deep-fried shrimp, turkey (of course, leftover), red pepper and renkon (lotus root). I already know what my new year resolution is... Go on a DIET!

Korean oxtail soup

Lunch on December 29.
I got oxtail from mother-in-law. I made oxtail soup! It was the first time but I think I did a great job. Good broth and lots of collagen. I was happy until I found out that mother-in-law bought the oxtail for my dog... He is sweet. He must be happy to share his oxtail with me (I hope).
Anyway I liked the oxtail soup. I will make this soup often!

Chrismas Eve Dinner at Tamari

Dinner at Tamari on December 24.
From my experience, I know that I shouldn't eat out on Christmas Eve. Everywhere is busy. In fact, some of places were closed and I was too late to make a reservation. But I could squeezed in at Tamari because it was a bit early.
It's been a while since last time I went there. I am not a big fan of their fish but I like Robata food. I wanna come back someday soon for robata and beer.

Lunch at Noodle Head on December 10.
I went to Noodle Head for lunch. Is it Thai food? It's different but I liked it. Pig wings! yummy! If I didn't need to go back to work, I must have had beer for sure. Oh, but Noodle Head doesn't have alcohol license. So make sure to bring your own booze!

Burgatory

Lunch at Burgatory on December 9.
Yay, I finished Christmas shopping. I was going to have lunch at home, but I decided to treat myself. I read some good reviews about Burgatory, like best burger in town. It was good. I liked the chips. I don't think I come down Waterworks just for Burgatory, but I will be back when I come to shop around here.

Dinner on December 8.
I wanted to open a good wine. I was going to cook beef shank but I didn't have cheap wine for cooking. I had no idea what I would like to cook, but eventually I decided to cook pork loin. hmmmm, it's ok. Now I am hungry for beef shank.

Nine on Nine

Dinner at Nine on Nine on December 6.
It had been more than a year since dining here and I missed the risotto. So I  decided to go back prior to a Friday show. I made a reservation and the staff asked me if I would go to a show after that. It was nice for them. When I got there, it looked not busy in spite of Friday evening. I guessed it's because of crappy weather. It was lucky for me because I didn't have plenty of time till the show.
However the service was slow. I had to ask my bill when my entree was served. I know it's not nice but I didn't want to late.
Ok, about meal. Long story, short, I won't come back. So disappointing. The rissoto was good, but it came without the shaved truffles that I had asked for. They were brought out in a ramekin after I had eating 1/3 of the dish. My entree, snapper, was mediocre or less. The cod plate my husband ordered was under cook. People working there seemed nice and friendly, but I couldn't enjoy the meal at all.I still like the risotto but I don't think I will be back.

Tessaro's

Dinner at Tessaro's on November 30.
Last time I wen to Tessaro's, I didn't enjoy the hamburger much. Of course, it was good but it's not special. Today I enjoyed the hamburger a lot. Maybe I added BBQ sauce on my hamburger and I guess I like the simple one better. I was so happy that they had cauliflower to pick for my sides.

Happy Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving meal on November 26.
Look my talented sister-in-law did on thanksgiving day. It's impressive. I'm glad that she picked quills instead of turkey. I know turkey is traditional but I'm not a big fan of it. Anyway I enjoyed the meal a lot! Thanks, sis.
