Pork Hamburger

Dinner on August 25.

I wanted to finish garlic chive. So I added it into pork ground meat and also added carrots and corns to make it bigger. Pork Hamburger! served with Ponzu Sauce. On the side, Zucchini, Rice and Tomato & Avocado Salad.

I joined Pedal Pittsburgh and rode bike for 25 miles. I tried 60 miles last time but this year I didn't ride a bike enough to challenge that far. It was good but I wanna try 60 miles next year. After the ride, I had lunch with my friend. It's always fun to have beer with friends!

Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant

Dinner on August 22.
I was going to go to Bloomfield Italian Days, but I was too tired to walk around. So I stopped by Los Cabos and got food to go. As usual, mainly I am vegetarian for Mexican food. It was good but next time I will ask to add cheese in my vegetarian burrito.

Veggie Burrito (grilled veggies, rice and beans) - It's stuffed. Only 1/3 made me full. (2 hours later, I ate some again).

Pamela's in Strip District

Breakfast ib August 15.

Finally! I went out for breakfast. I took for 30 minutes walk (in the hungover morning, lol) and went to Pamela's. I don't want to go out for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday unless I get up very early (you know this kind of diners are very busy) but I want do it again on weekday if I have chance.

Cafe Du Jour

Dinner at Cafe Du Jour on August 14.

I picked Cafe du Jour for girls night out. I heard about good reviews about the restaurant. Yes, it was good, and nice atmosphere. This restaurant does BYOB and corkage fee is $2/person. And Cash only.

Nice Patio

Crepe filled with ricotta cheese - I was not sure about this first. It seemed like too much cheese. But I was wrong. Def, I will order this again.

Mushroom Soup

NY Strip Steak - The sides, grilled zucchini and potatoes were tasty. But the steak..... I am sad that I have to admit but it was awful. I asked for it medium rare. It came as medium well. So I asked a server to make another one. A few minutes later, the server asked me to check the steak how it looked like inside (because our table was outside). I was not sure what he was trying, but I followed him and checked steak under the room lights. Of course, it was still medium well. So I told him, I want my steak medium rare. He accepted my offer (of course) and brought the steak. This time, it was medium rare. I was happy with it. However.... it's tough and chewy. Ok, no more steak at Cafe du Jour. But don't get me wrong. Appetizers were good and my friend enjoyed her meal. I will come back.

Upside-Down Shepherd's Pie

Dinner on August 13.

I didn't anything about Shepherd's pie. But I just realized the ingredients are same for shepherd's pie.  So yes, this is Upside-Down Shepherd's Pie. I guess the regular one is better. Because the meat gets a bit dry. It still tasted good though.

Groupon is expired on August 7! So I went out for dinner to Sausalido with BYOB.

Quinoa and Spinach Cake - I though it was a salad style. It's baked. I liked it. It was a nice size ... can be a vegetarian main dish? Actually, to save room for entrees, we got a box.

Japanese dish. I made gomokumame which has 5 kinds of ingredients. Mine had soy beans, carrots, gobo(burdock), konnyaku, konbu(sea weeds).

Cod and Potatoes

Dinner on August 4.

I found a good recipe for cod. Easy and tasty;
1. Slice onion and potatoes.
2. Spread onion and potatoes ( I had mushrooms too) in the pot. (make a layer. but onion first)
3. Put Cod on the top of #2.
4. Pout white wine. Cook in medium heat.
5. Add soup stock (I used vegetable bouillon)

Barefoot bubbly - it says extra dry, but it was sweet...
