Kushi Katsu Sunday

Sunday, October 22
I woke up early and it didn't seem like J would get up soon. So I made breakfast for myself. Well, nothing fancy but I enjoyed a quiet morning.

Breakfast
Nasu Tsukemono (Pickled Eggplant), Miso Soup, Rice - It could be perfect if we had an egg.

Dinner
Kushi Katsu (Breaded Deep Fried Meals): Onion, Shrimp, Cod, Renkon(Lotus Root) - When all food was ready to be deep-fried, I realized that I didn't have enough oil. So I just sprinkle some oil on food and put them in oven. It worked! Note for myself: 375F for 30 minutes.

I am off tomorrow, so this is my Friday! I have to go back to work on Saturday though. Anyway, the unusual schedule will be over soon.

What day it is?

I am so losing to track days. Fist of all, I went out on Monday which I normally don't do. And I worked evening which I normally don't. I have another evening shift tomorrow and off on Friday. Anyway it's nice to be able to sleep in 3 days straight.

Leftovers from last night (Takikomi Gohan, Cabbage Salad, Burdock and Carrot), Egg

Apple Pie with Pawpaw Ice Cream

Lunch
Okonomiyaki: I am from Kansai area in Japan. Of couse, I eat Okonomiyaki with Rice.

Sunday Meals

Okay, another cleaning day. But the heavy duties were done yesterday. I just have to do regular weekend household. Still not fun though.

Breakfast.
Hashed Potatoes, Scrambled Egg, Salad: I found a good recipe for hashed potatoes. It tasted good but it was too mushy. I can try it again.

Lunch
Beef Stroganoff Pasta: I found this recipe on Tasty Facebook. It was easy and good!

Dinner
Grilled Chicken and Salmon Salad: Salad is perfect for dinner after heavy lunch.

I got up, had a breakfast, worked out at the gym and headed at the airport. That is my favorite when I travel alone. What did I do at the airport? Of course, I watched the Steelers game!

Presque Isle on Friday

I took 3 days off for this weekend to take my family to Presque Isle Park. It was a perfect weekend getaway place. The weather was perfect and I enjoyed even driving there.

Long Day

It seems like I am nervous for my family visit. Don't get me wrong. I am super excited, but there are many things to get done. I woke up 4 am this morning, and couldn't go back to sleep. I gave up and got up at 4:30 am and started doing some dishes and laundry. Oh yeah, it was a looooooong day.

I left my cradit card at a restaurant last night! I was so freaked out when I realized this morning, but fortunately the restaurant staff found my card. I had a morning off, so I took for a walk to North Park and went pick up my card downtown, and rode a bike for a bit in South Side before going to work. It was such a productive morning!

Scrambled Egg, Leftover Veggies, Rice

Dinner for J
Bulgogi Hamburger: Add some seasoning including Gochujang, Sesame Oil, Soy Sauce to ground beef and make hamburger. Yum!

Steamed Artichoke
I googled a recipe for artichokes. Oven grilled one looked good, but I didn't want to use oven for 45 minutes for only one artichoke. So I find the recipe using pressure cooker. Cooking time was only 10 minutes! That's for me!

Panzanella
It's been a while to make panzanella! I had all ingredients to make it ... but cucumbers! So I used zucchini instead. Ha! It worked!

Kushi Katsu: Pork, Shrimp, Zucchini, Onion, Mushroom, Green Beans
- I like breaded deep fried food (who doesn't!), but it's hard to make it good at home. And a whole house would smell like oil after cooking. Def, I would have to go to Kushi Katsu restaurant when I visit Japan next time.
