It was a cloudy, miserable day, but I think I had a good day. I went to North Park for a walk before raining, took a yoga lesson in the afternoon. We watched a movie at night and went to bed before 10 p.m.
It was a long week. I guess the Tuesday event (pulling my wisdom tooth out) makes me that way. I just wanted to relax. We opened white wine for appetizer and enjoyed the homemade tomato sauce pasta.
I was going to go to yoga in the evening, but I was too tire... or too lazy.
Bento
Chikuzen-ni, Egg, Flounder, Celery, Rice
Dinner
Grilled Chicken, Steamed Cabbage and Carrots with Balsamic Dressing, Pasta - I love dark meat. I like fried chicken and wings. But if I can get good chicken, I think I like the grilled chicken the best!
I have 3 days off since yesterday. I stayed at my parents' yesterday and relaxed. I came back home this morning and did some house hold. Mainly I just read books and relaxed. I love staycation.
Dinner
Avocado and Shrimp
Cabbage Salad
Chikuzen-ni (Carrot, Burdock, Konnyaku, Green Peas, Chicken)
I woke up early and it didn't seem like J would get up soon. So I made breakfast for myself. Well, nothing fancy but I enjoyed a quiet morning.
Breakfast
Nasu Tsukemono (Pickled Eggplant), Miso Soup, Rice - It could be perfect if we had an egg.
Dinner
Kushi Katsu (Breaded Deep Fried Meals): Onion, Shrimp, Cod, Renkon(Lotus Root) - When all food was ready to be deep-fried, I realized that I didn't have enough oil. So I just sprinkle some oil on food and put them in oven. It worked! Note for myself: 375F for 30 minutes.
It was such a productive day. I took for a walk with my dogs, quick bike ride in the morning and met my friend for lunch. It was gorgeous out. We enjoyed walking around in Lawrenceville.
My stomach had been screaming for tacos since last night. I had free lunch at work, but I decided to sneak out to have tacos. So good! No tacos no life! Ha!
As I finished most of households yesterday, I had free time in the afternoon. I went to Kaelin Farm Market to pick up a pumpkin. Soergel Orchard is a big one in Wexford. In fact, they are good but it is very busy on weekend right now. I just needed one pumpkin, so Kaelin Farm Market is good enough and also they have fresh groceries and yummy sandwiches. Anyway I made Jack-O'-Lantern before the Steelers game starts. We won, so it was a good Sunday!
Lunch
Okonomiyaki (Cabbage Pancake)
Dinner
Spring Roll, Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken), Cabbage Salad
I worked all day today; cleaning house, kitchen and bathrooms, doing dishes and laundry. I was going to cook but it was too beautiful inside. So I asked J to grill hamburger. I wonder how many evening we can eat outside rest of this year. Yeah, we should enjoy outside dining whenever weather permits!
It has been a week since my family left for Japan. My house is so messy. I am cleaning all this weekend. I didn't have energy to make dinner. So I got something good for wine and relax.
When I got home, my family was not there anymore. At least, my doggies was happy that I was home. We sat on the back porch and sipped a glass of wine. Our normal life is back.
My mom is leaving tomorrow. I took a day off and spent time with her all day. We took for a long walk at North Park, cooked together and had dinner together.
