Cure

Dinner at Cure on Apr. 28. Cure again! Cure is my most favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh so far. They got liquer license 5 days ago. They have good beer selection (no miller lite! lol) and wine. I enjoyed everything, food, drink and music. But the first visit was too good. I don't say I was dissapointed, but the biggest issue for me was that they didn't have Foie Blonde. I fell in love with it at the first visit and I could say I went there today for Foie Blonde. Anyway I enjoyed meal.

Salumi : duck speck, salami nduja, duck rillettes, lardo - I really liked the mustard. If I get really good one, I can serve it as appetizer at home!

Spring : grilled ramps, morel mushrooms, Taleggio custard, chicken egg - Morel Mushrooms were so good. It's flavourful and juicy.

Poussin - it was 3 ways. I liked fried one. The seasonning was really good.

Pork Plate

Dark Chocolate Soufflé Cake : pistachio butter, vin cotto, xvoo, sea salt - Pistachio butter was so good. I almost ordered bread. It was good even for someone doesn't care about sweets like me.

Tan Tan Noodle

Tan Tan Noodle for lunch on Apr. 28. The noodle package said tan tan noodle, spicy chicken, but it was not what I expected. The soup should be red and thicker, and it didn't spicy at all. I added groud pork for topping and it made the soup taste better.

Dinner on Apr. 25. Easy one plate dinner; beef, onion, carrot and green pepper stir-fry with Yakiniku sauce. Yummy.

Scalloped Potatoes

Dinner on Apr. 24. I don't eat potatoes much. Speaking of carb, I would like to have rice more. I love potato chips though. Anyway I had a bag of potatoes, so I decided to make scalloped potatoes. I added onion and bacon. It was good. Maybe I'd like to have potatoes more often?

Grilled Salmon with Pesto

Scalloped Potatoes

Gaucho

Lunch on Apr. 24. I had steak sandwich at Gaucho. OMG, it was so good. It was real steak. I mean I've had steak sandwich before, but it's not steak, just beef. But the steak sandwich of Gaucho is real steak. I picked Flank steak (yes, you can pick what beef you like) and it was grilled in perfect. It's not only about steak but also veggies were also good. My sandwich had roasted red pepper and caramelized onion. and the bread had tasty juice from steak. It was awesome.

Happy Hour at Eleven

Happy Hour at Eleven on Apr. 22. I was hungry for fresh oyster for a few years and finally I could have them! I know some places serving oysters, and as it's girl's nite, I picked Eleven's Happy Hour. To be honest, I didn't expect much. Happy Hour Food was only 6 kinds and $6 each. I enjoyed it. Oyster plate has 6 pieces. It was not great, but I don't complain about it for $6.

Oysters! - Home made horse radish sauce was awesome!

Caramelized Onion & White Cheddar Pierogies - I just found that I am not a big fan of Pierogies. Carb and Carb!

Crispy Brussels Sprouts - It looked a bit burned, but it was good. Good for beer.

Tuna tartar - Nothing special, but I think it's good deal for happy hour.

Lasagna

Dinner on Apr. 21.
I don't remember when I made lasagna last time, but I'm sure that I didn't make it in 5 years. Anyway I made lasagna and it was good. My lasagna is a bit different. The red sauce has not only meat but also veggies; celery, onion and carrot. I use white sauce instead of cheese. I use cheese only top of the lasagna. I know it tastes better if I use more cheese, but it's still good without extra cheese.

Appetizer : Broccoli and Carrot sticks with Bluecheese dip, Kosher Dill Pickles

Salad : Romain Lettuce with Bacon

Lasagna

Red Wine : Valfieri  Barbaresco Bric Mentina 2004 - I liked it! Of course, it's Barbaresco! I don't remember how much it was but it was not expensive.

Kimchi and Boiled Egg Donburi

Lunch on Apr. 21. I had a busy day, so lunch is very easy one. All I did is to boil egg. I had rice in the boul and put kimch on the rice, and shredded boild egg and sprincled on the rice. Done. Good enough for Sunday lunch.

T.G.I. Friday's

Dinner at T.G.I. Friday's on Apr. 19.
I went to T.G.I. Friday's with my friends. I'd not been to this kind of restaurants for a while and it was first time to go to T.G.I. Friday's. OMG, it's so cheap. I checked the menu on the website, it has steak and some seafood. I thought it could be $25 minimum for an entree. But I paid only $15 for Jack Daniel's Sampler. It has pork ribs, shrimp and fried chicken. Wow, it was shocking. I don't think I wanna come very often, but I would enjoy it once in a while just like fastfood. :)

Mintt

Lunch at Mintt on Apr. 19. I was thinking to go to Tamarind, but I tried Mintt my friend recommended. I liked the butter chicken. It was rich and creamy. For lunch buffet, I like Tmarind better. There are more food and it has my favorite Paneer Tikka Masala. I see it on the menu at Mintt but there was not for the buffet. Maybe I should try Mintt for dinner next time.

Dinner on Apr. 15. I was hungry for Kimchi since last week. I was going to Korea Garden but it was closed because of renovation. Anyway I made Buta Kimchi (Pork and Kimchi Stir-fry). Also I made Chicken Soup from Rotisserie Chicken leftover. I made broth from chicken bones and added ginger. It was good.

Buta Kimchi : Kimchi, Pork, Onion and Carrot

Greenbeans : Stir-fry with garlic

Chicken Soup - I threw bones in the pot and saved some meat. Added water and ginger to make broth. After boiling the broth for an hour, take bones and ginger out and add tofu and some leftover meat.

Done!

Willow

Lunch at Willow on Apr. 15. I went to Willow for crabcake. I liked it a lot, but I will have to consider again. It tasted too much mayo. It was still good, but it's not the best anymore. I am gonna look for very good one again.

Chef's House Made Soup : Ham, Brocolli and Cheese - It's so rich and very good. I liked it.

Bread - Nothing special,  but I liked olive oil with cheese for dipping.

Bento

Bento. It is just from leftover. :) Rice, Pumpkin, Renkon and Bacon Tofu.

Grilled Salmon & Bacon Tofu

Dinner on Apr. 8(maybe). Salmon, Japanese Pumpkin, Renkon(lotus root), Bacon Tofu

Bacon Tofu - It was good. very simple. Just put bacon wrap the tofu. no seasonning. Bacon has enough flavour. I just wonder it is healthy? Tofu is know as healthy food but bacon is one of tasty but greasy food. Anyway it was good.
